Average review score:

A must-read!
Possibly the most useful book available for anyone working in or considering working in elementary and secondary American Indian education. As a tribal school employee, I felt the authors may have used our school as a case study! Thought provoking and inspirational - highly recommended.

A journey in understanding
These gentle, generous-spirited writers have contributed a great deal to the field. Their book is full of stories, true tales of work in classrooms. Each leads you further into the depths of insight needed to be of use as an educator of Native American students.

College Physics
Published in Paperback by Saunders College Publishing (November, 1997)
Authors: Dietrich Schroeer, Franklin D. Miller, and Robert W. Stanley
Average review score:

So Impressive Book!
This book will help you who want to study physics by yourselves so much. You can be familiar with physics as you answer many questions in the book. As the author said, to understand physics well, you should not just read the book but use it(that is, answer questions many times!).

Very helpful
I found the methods of explaining problems in this book to be clear, concise and very helpful. Though this is more or less the basics of physics, it would be useful to any senior in an advanced level physics class.

Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investments
Published in Hardcover by South-Western College Pub (01 September, 2000)
Authors: David M. Geltner and Norman G. Miller
Average review score:

Excellent
I am currently a graduate student in a Master of Science in Real Estate Program. This is by far the best text book I have read in my academic career. I will keep this as a reference source for years to come.

Cutting Edge Book
This book is ideal for the serious institutional level investor, or more sophisticated individual investor, lender, portfolio manager, or asset manager. Integrates the frontier financial economics into real estate and capital markets. This is not a simpleton "get rick quick" book that ignores risk and research time. Rather it is an objective and in-depth book with a great deal of content.

Authors: Keith Miller and J. Keith Miller
Average review score:

Must Read!!!!
This book is fabulous for anyone dealing with any kind of co-dependence issues, self-esteem issues and just issues with the way you were raised by your parents in general. It is not a blaming book for the past, but a real planning book for the future. It absolutely changed my whole attitude about life, love and how to deal with both of them. I can't wait to read more books by Mr. Miller and his wife.

Excellent book that gives insight to all relationships
What a fabulous book. It offers insight to everyone in your life and every once in a while you see yourself. I am buying several for friends and family.

The Complete Frank Miller Batman
Published in Hardcover by Longmeadow Press (December, 1989)
Average review score:

A true "Collector's Edition"
It was a strange time for comics, that this collection could be made. Sold at the height of the 80's collectors boom, "The Complete Frank Miller Batman" is a luxury edition of the type usually reserved for "Moby Dick." Leather-bound and silver lined, the book smells of quality. High paper quality and good inks contribute to a comics experience rarely seen elsewhere. Truly, it is the luxury car of comics.

The stories inside deserve this level of presentation. "The Dark Knight Returns," available in many other collected editions, is one of the premier works of art produced by the comics medium. "Batman: Year One" is a gem of equal quality. The third piece, "Wanted: Santa Claus-Dead or Alive" is not written by Miller, and lacks the drama of the other stories. He is the artist, only. Still, it is a nice single issue Batman story, representative of that era.

Also included in this edition are introductions by comics resident genius Alan Moore, as well as Richard Burning and a little introspection by Frank Miller.

Definitely worth picking up.

A Must Have for the Comic Collection
Frank Miller revolutionized comics in America, and quite possibly the world. With sophisticated plots and asorbing artwork, the reader becomes intangled with the charaters as much as he or she would with any play, movie, or novel. This collection, has two of Miller's greatist works: The Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Year One. The third story is cute and works well in the collection as a bridge between the other two stories.

"Batman: Year One" is the first story in the collection (actually the last one of the three written) and it is a story that many Batman fans had hoped the fisrt Batman movie would have been based on. It is well told, and the major players in the Batman saga are introduced: Batman, Gordon, Alfed and Selina Kyle (Catwomen). It is a well written story and as good as any in the last 20 years of any genre.

The second story in this special is "Wanted: Santa Claus-Dead or Alive." This is a quick piece and doesn't involve too much, but does show a caring and revernt Batman.

The last is Miller's magnum opus, "The Dark Knight Returns." This four chapter story is spectacular and a great piece of work: both in story telling and various artist expression. This psychological drama deals with an aging Batman, who at the age of 55, comes back to fight crime after a ten year absence. Miller insightfully deals with many subjects now addressed by our popular media. For example, the idea of a liberal soceity blaming crime on the agents of heroism instead on personal evil. Miller writes and demonstrates that victims are innocent people who try to live a virtous life, and Batman fights to protect a city dying of a cancer.

Comic collectors need this special leather bound book with commentaries by Richard Burning and Alan Moore. Frank Miller himself writes some notes which personalizes this special edition that much more.

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Cooking with Kids
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Cooking with Kids Reviewer: Kristen Freiermuth from Portland, OR USA A book to make memories with your special children. If you love to cook & eat, & you want to share these loves, this is a "must have" book. Though I have been cooking with my grandchildren for several years, I found fabulous time saving tips & ways to cultivate ownership in recipes & meal preparation. Ms. Cirillo has created a fun, educational arena for an event we all participate in every day. Her "Savvy Food Shopper" and "Magic of Food" was a real surprise. Great ideas for practical management of shopping & learning activities involving math, chemistry & nutrition. What a fun-easy way to learn fractions

Recipe for a Good Time with Your Kids
What a great way to spend time with kids! This cookbook is full of great ideas for teaching your child about cooking and food. I especially like the sidebars; "Kitchen Clues", "Kid Quiz" and "Learn the Lingo" make browsing this book a lot of fun. The recipes are laid out in a clear manner and are designed to tempt the most finicky child.

The Complete Player: The Psychology of Winning Hockey
Published in Paperback by Stoddart Pub (October, 2001)
Author: Saul L., Dr. Miller
Average review score:

Best hockey book i own... great for any sport
Everything i had hoped for when i first saw it... a thorough introduction to the sports psychology of ice hockey, though it could certainly be applied to any sport or any competitive performance endeavor. this book allowed me to really improve several things i have been working on - productive visualization, mental preparation for games, and controlling destructive emotions like frustration and apprehension. it's a well written book with tons of examples and stories from NHL and other players. i had to write all over it, too, which is always a sign of something i really use. i plan to continue rereading it and integrating the techniques into my play and development. in addition to the main part, there are special chapters on offense and scoring, playing d, playing goal, and rehab. good stuff. like i said, i think this book is a major positive addition to anyone's training program.

Great Book for Playing Better Hockey, and Life Too!
This is a very readable book with some excellent mental coaching tips. It describes a number of techniques for managing emotions and using power thinking and imagery that I have found to be very useful. I liked the chapters on a winning attitude and what it takes "to make it" in the NHL. I thought they offered some practical suggestions to build confidence, and mental toughness. The strength of the book for me is that it is very practical. There are lots of excellent stories and examples that illustrate the author's experience and techniques. And I like how he relates his observations and advice to what many NHL players and coaches have to say about their mental game. I would recommend it to any hockey player or coach.

The Contemporary Christian Music Debate
Published in Paperback by O.M. Literature (1993)
Author: Steve Miller
Average review score:

Proponents and opponents of CCM should read this book.
Having read MANY books on the subject of contemporary music in the church, this is the best I have ever seen. It is sound, Biblical, thoroughly researched (11 years of research!), and balanced. If you have questions, or just want to learn about the history of Christian music, there is NO BETTER book.

This is a GREAT book!
This is definitely one of the best Christian books I have ever read! Steve Miller takes the reader through the whole history of Christian music, from the time when only psalms were acceptable, all the way up to CCM. In doing this he lovingly shows how all these different styles of music can communicate to completely different cultures and times. He also takes common arguments against CCM and breaks them down to show that our God is a God who can and does speak through all forms of music, whether it be traditional hymns, or more modern-day CCM. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who's open to finding out more about God and music
